As expected, the HTC 7 Pro has launched on O2 Germany. For 29 Euros and a two-year contract, you can get a 3.6-inch display, slide-out 5-row QWERTY keypad, 1 GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording and LED flash, and the usual stuff like Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G.
While there are still a few gaps left to fill in the still-nascent Windows phone 7 operating system, the style is very sharp, and some solid plugging-in with Microsoft’s other products (like Zune and Xbox) makes the OS distinctly modern, especially when compared with Windows Mobile. The HTC 7 Pro in particular is nice because there are relatively few Windows Phones with physical QWERTY keyboards… I think there’s just the Dell Venue Pro and the LG Quantum. Even then, the angled hinge is really distinctive, and may be exactly what some folks are looking for.
Anyone in Germany who wants to get their hands on this one can find it in O2’s online store. For those of us in North America, sit tight – Sprint’s getting the HTC 7 Pro soon.
