TeleNav GPS Navigator is now in version 6.2 for select Android devices. The new version of the popular navigation application packs several handy features, including:
- Multiple Route Suggestions – Once a destination is entered, you will be presented with up to three route suggestions overlaid on a map with route distance and estimated drive times.
- Commute Alert – which now has a new user interface thanks to which it is easier to set and receive automatic alerts at a pre-selected time to show current traffic conditions.
- Quick Search – Located on the application’s home page, you can simply touch the Quick Search box and type an address, landmark, category (such as Italian Food) or a business name. Moreover, thanks to the use of predictive search technology, TeleNav will suggest results as you type the desired location.
- Expanded Speech Recognition – which goes beyond finding addresses or businesses. Now, users can also get answer to questions like “How’s the weather” or “How’s traffic.”
- New Points Of Interest (POI) search screen interface that makes searching for business categories more simple.
Finally, TeleNav has also added millions of new Points of Interest (POIs) to its search database, giving users access to more than 22 million U.S. business locations, historical landmarks, airports and more.
TeleNav GPS Navigator 6.2 is available immediately from the Android Market to AT&T customers as AT&T Navigator 2.2. Compatible phones include the Samsung Captivate, HTC Aria, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Motorola BACKFLIP. Additional Android devices and carriers will be added soon.
