GadgetTrak has recently launched a new security suite for Android and BlackBerry, which including remotely wiping contacts from the device, AES-encrypted contact and photo backup, remote GPS tracking (as the name suggests), and remote alarm. The app will also send you a notification if the SIM card has been changed, which is a likely scenario if your phone’s been stolen.
GadgetTrak is a subscription-based service that works with tablets and desktop computers, as well as smartphones. Personally, I don’t know that I would pay an annual fee for it, but it seems like they’ve got the right idea as a one-time purchase on the iPhone. Most of the stuff offered by GadgetTrak already comes included with RIM’s Protect app, which is totally free, but I don’t know if there are similar options for Android; Motoblur is the only thing I can think of that comes close. If this seems like something you need, you can find out more info on GadgetTrak here, which also has links to sign up for $20/year, or the 30-day free trial.
