Jawbone’s latest Bluetooth headset is called ERA and it’s touted as the “world’s first motion-controlled Bluetooth headset with HD audio.”

That HD audio part is especially emphasized and is said to deliver the “richest, most life-like and clear sound to date.” Moreover, the headset boasts a 25% larger wideband speaker as well as Jawbone’s famous noise-cancelling technology NoiseAssassin 3.0 that can detect your surroundings and adjust the inbound volume and intelligibility.

However, we’re are more impressed with the built-in accelerometer that brings a “new control paradigm.” The company has teamed-up motion technology provider Fullpower-MotionX to make using a Bluetooth headset a completely new experience. For instance, to pair the ERA with your phone, all you need to do is shake it [headset] and the pairing process begins. No need to hold some button for 5 seconds or more. Likewise, you can “tap-tap” ERA to answer or end a phone call.

And that’s just a start – Jawbone will be adding new capabilities to ERA via the MyTALK platform. And you can already use Jawbone THOUGHTS iPhone app to send voice messages to friends and groups without typing or calling.

Jawbone ERA is available in four designs — Shadowbox, Smokescreen, Midnight and Silver Lining — for $129 from Jawbone.com, Apple Stores, AT&T and Best Buy.
