One of my favourite PC games, Worms, is now available on Android for $2.99, in addition to their existing iPhone app. It’s a 2D, turn-based shooter that pits rival teams of worms in surreal landscapes with a variety of unlikely weapons, including (but not limited to), the Hadouken, the Concrete Donkey, the Exploding Sheep, and more conventional ones like the Bazooka, Carpet Bomb, and uzi. There are also a variety of tools to place your worms in strategic locations, like the Ninja Rope, Flamethrower, and Jetpack.
This is a great game for playing with friends, since you can hand off the phone and watch with terrified anticipation as they take carefully aimed shots at your own personal army. Since it’s turn-based, you can also pause the game easily enough if you need to get moving somewhere else. Worms is a great time-waster, and I would even go so far as to say it’s better than Angry Birds while having the same kind of appeal. You can find Worms over in the Android Market.
