Palm Teases Upcoming webOS Device in Video

HP and Palm have an event coming up on February 9 where they’re expected to announce at least one new device, most likely a tablet. Before getting started, they’ve launched a teaser video giving us a few brief glimpses of what they’re planning. Judging by the ominous silhouette on their new countdown page, a tablet seems pretty much guaranteed, along with the new version of webOS optimized for tablets we saw last week.

If Palm does launch the Topaz tablet as anticipated, it will have a 9.7-inch 1024 x 768 display, a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, OpenGL 3D graphics support, 1.3 megapixel camera on the front, 16/32/64 GB of storage, Beats audio, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. Palm may also be kicking up the Touchstone wireless charging dock up a notch by enabling some data transfer and sharing online using it.

The video doesn’t give much more than a few switches and buttons, likely lock and mute keys, but their actual functions are still shrouded in ninja-like mystery. Take a gander for yourself and see if there are any minute details you can pick out.
