Tru aka Truphone announced new voice and data plans for U.S.-based business travelers. Called Tru for Business Elite, the new plans are actually bundles of minutes, data and texts that can potentially save businesses tons of cash on their international roaming bills (when compared to business roaming rates).
Included in the deal are data, minutes and texts bundles which can be used across all Tru Countries, providing over 80% savings. Moreover, “European minutes” can be used across 30 countries, offering savings of between 30 and 60 percent on calls between Europe and Tru Countries. Finally, there are local numbers for any or all Tru Countries, making it easy for contacts to stay in touch without footing international call charges.
At the moment, Tru Countries include United Kingdom, Australia and the U.S., with Hong Kong, Spain and Netherlands coming soon.
In the other Tru news, the company announced that it has appointed Gary S. Cohen as general manager and senior vice president of Tru Americas. Cohen, who was most recently Managing Director in Lenovo’s Global Sales Organization, joins Tru with more than 25 years of experience in technology and telecommunications.
