Following shortly on the Android release, Worms has been launched on Palm’s webOS. The classic turn-based strategic shooter game pits rivals mobs of invertebrates with funny accents against one another, armed with ridiculous weapons like the exploding sheep, the holy hand grenade, and the hadouken. Surreal environments provide plenty of obstacles, but you’ve got tools like the trusty ninja rope, bungee cord, jetpack, and teleporter to help you get around.
Worms remains one of my favourite games out there. Since its start in the mid-90s, it’s been just the right mix of ridiculous, suspenseful, funny, and violent. It’s great multiplayer or solo, and the turn-based structure means you can pause and pick it up again with relative ease. Personally, I find a game like Worms about a million times more fun than Angry Birds, namely in that you get the same challenges in trajectory and power, only with a wider range of projectiles.
If you’re feeling violent, you can find Worms in the webOS App Catalog for $2.99.
