Pay no attention to what anyone says about the convenience of mobile phone holsters – they’re about as cool as neon-colored fanny packs. At Mobile World Congress this week, the fashion police – courtesy of Good Technology – was quick to cite offenders by handing out tickets. If being accosted by lovely ladies dressed as police offers and being embarrassed in front one’s colleagues isn’t enough to deter one from using a holster, perhaps the fact that each citation was on Twitter might.
Good Technology is attempting to raise awareness for this major fashion faux-pas starting with the little stunt at MWC this week. Those who were not wearing holsters were given the privilege of making “citizen’s arrests” and tweeting the incidents for a chance to win an iPad. Wow, it really wants rid the world of those pleather-and-velcro offenders, doesn’t it?
Here’s the actual shtick:
Good Technology’s Good for Enterprise is the only security and mobile management solution that protects enterprise data on your mobile workforce’s devices of choice—while leaving personal data untouched. Which means one mobile device per person, and no shortage of pockets. So you’ll never have to resort to a holster again.
Unless you’re a man who has unbearable nightmares about junk-cancer from keeping your phone in your pocket, please leave the holster at home.
