Just as we expected, T-Mobile USA has picked up the Nokia X2-01 and is offering it to its prepay customers for $79.99. That money buys you a lot, requiring no contract signing from potential customers.
Aside from boasting a full QWERTY keyboard, the X2-01 also comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, Nokia’s Series 40 UI, EDGE data, 3.5mm headset jack, VGA camera, Bluetooth 2.1, 1020 mAh battery and a microSD memory card slot. In terms of pre-installed apps, there’s an email app, social networking and instant messaging clients, media player and Opera Mini, ensuring decent web browsing experience. In a nutshell, we’re talking about a low-cost, yet pretty reliable feature phone which should appeal to heavy texters on a budget.
The Nokia X2-01 is already available from T-Mobile USA’s website. You can only grab the black version of the device at the moment, despite the fact that it’s also available in other colors, including shades of red, silver, lilac and azure.
