ACCESS, which is best known as a company that both Palm OS (Garnet) from Palm, entered into a strategic alliance with Yahoo! to incorporate Yahoo! Search as the default search engine in the recently launched NetFront Life Browser in the U.S. and Canada. The new agreement between the two companies builds upon the previously announced relationship between ACCESS and Yahoo! Japan Corporation, which is the largest portal site in the Land of the rising Sun.
NetFront Life Browser v2.0 is a free to download, HTML5-compatible web browser for Android. ACCESS touts it to be “fast, efficient and packed with many new user experience features” such as the so called Tilt Mode, Visual Page Loading, Scrapbook and Unified Navigation. Additionally, NetFront Life Browser also includes integration with Evernote, which seems to be getting increasingly popular in Japan after NTT DoCoMo agreed to integrate the note-taking service on its Android smartphones.
Also as part the deal, popular sites such as the Yahoo! homepage, Yahoo! Sports, Yahoo! Finance and Yahoo! News will be bookmarked in NetFront Life Browser to allow easy access by users.
