News360 is no longer an iPhone/iPod Touch only app – it’s also available for iPad, taking full advantage of Apple’s tablet big screen.
The application works like Google News, applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semantic analysis technology to analyze hundreds of thousands of news articles and bring you the latest news, both global and local. Moreover, News360 also comes with some other handy features, such as the ability to turn readers into experts by providing them with additional information on any given topic cited in the story.
Each article is algorithmically evaluated for news “freshness” and source credibility in addition to a qualitative analysis of both text and photos. Mentioned semantic analysis and natural language processing automatically identify and hyperlink more than 500,000 companies, people, brands and locations within the stories, providing readers with a context.
Then there’s integration with third party services such as TripIt to obtain news about upcoming travel destinations, Twitter to provide feeds for each story and allow for interaction with other news readers, and Facebook for creation of a personalized news feed based on your publicly-stated interests.
