Halfbrick, the developer of super-popular iPhone games, like Fruit Ninja, Monster Dash and Age of Zombies — which achieved over 20 million downloads worldwide — announced a new game that will be released in “early summer 2011.” The upcoming title is called Machine Gun Jetpack (MGJP) and it features the Monster Dash hero – Barry Steakfries.
The game is said to deliver a “simple, one-button experience” where players control the height of Barry as he rockets through the air, spraying bullets towards the ground. Along the way, you’ll be avoiding and destroying such obstacles as electricity fields, moving lasers and even high-powered missiles. To help you on your quest, you’ll be grabbing vehicle pickups including Gravity Suit Barry, the classic Badass Hog, a giant mech suit called Lil’ Stomper and the “bizarrely awesome” Crazy Freaking Teleporter.
Moreover there are coins to collect and then spend in-game on various cosmetic and functional upgrades like a top-hat, double shields, jetpack that looks like a shark’s jaws and shoots bullet teeth, and so on. Halfbrick promises a “massive” range of items to purchase in the shop, with additional content being added via ongoing updates.
Sounds fun, doesn’t it? And here are some screenshots we wanted to share. Enjoy! 😉
