Rogers Wireless is now waiving their $35 ‘activation fee‘ for the rest of this month. Not so long ago, TELUS and Bell activated a similar promotion, so news of the Rogers offering is par for the course. Yes, it seems as though the ‘Big 3’ of Canadian wireless can’t do much without the other 2 following suit.
The $35 savings at Rogers is on now through March 31st (for new activations only). Like TELUS and Bell, the savings is applied to your bill in the form of a credit.
This is a nice break to keep some cash in your pocket for sure… but I can’t help wondering… why do they charge an ‘activation’ fee in the first place? Surely this is an industry-wide money grab, right? Discuss. 🙂
