If you needed any reassurance that the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet would actually launch at the end of the month as RIM has indicated, TrueSupplier is listing the OEM touch screen with bezel for $82.49, and outside touchscreen alone for $59.99.
The PlayBook has some other, considerably snazzier parts to it, like a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, dual-core 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel and 3 megapixel camera (both HD-capable), Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G via Bluetooth tethering. We’ve got a hands-on video tour over here.
I’m curious to know how easy the PlayBook will be for self-repair. Considering there’s no user-removable battery, and I couldn’t spot the screws on the thing at MWC, so it’s possible we may have to drag our busted PlayBook’s into carriers for service. Not ideal for us techies confident enough to take a torx screwdriver to a gadget, but probably won’t affect the vast majority of buyers.
