Nokia C7 Coming to T-Mobile as the Astound

The Nokia C7 has been spotted hanging out in T-Mobile U.S.’s inventory system, bearing the name “Astound” and a “frosty metal” paint job. We had heard the name Tiger last week, but that could have just been a codename.

The C7 is a decent little package, including an 8 megapixel camera, 3.5-inch 640 x 360 screen, 8 GB of internal storage, 3G, Wi-Fi, and GPS. It will also one of the few handsets in North America to run Symbian^3, which is mostly just a series of speed improvements and slight UI changes. The full list of particular OS changes can be found over here, or take a look at our hands-on video.

We probably won’t see too many buyers investing heavily in a Symbian smartphone these days, now that Nokia is all-in with Windows, but there’s still going to be something of a wind-down period to empty out stock of older Nokia handsets and roll out the new ones.

No pricing or release date info just yet, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
