Just because you (still) don’t have a smartphone that doesn’t mean you can’t access popular web services. Facebook and Twitter are already available on pretty much any mobile phone sold in the world and LinkedIn is following with the same/similar offering.
However, it’s not LinkedIn which developed the mobile application for feature phone users — rather it was Snaptu who used the business social network’s APIs to developed LinkedIn app which should work with over 2,500 different types of devices or about 80% of all phones sold worldwide.
Using Snaptu’s LinkedIn app, you will be able to:
- View your update stream to find out what your network is doing
- Gather “meeting intelligence” about the customers and partners
- Invite other people to join your network (and accept other people’s invitations)
- Access your connections to see how their networks have grown
In a nutshell, this is great news especially for emerging markets where not that many people can afford a smartphone…
