Super-popular iPhone title Cut the Rope, developed by Zeptolab and published by Chillingo, became the first iPhone game to ever win BAFTA at the recently held British Academy’s Game Awards.
The physics-based puzzler for iOS-powered devices has sold more than six million copies worldwide on the Apple AppStore and continues to make the headlines around the Interwebs.
Earlier this month, Cut the Rope also earned recognitions from the Game Developer (Choice Awards for Best Handheld Game) and PocketGamer (Best iPhone Casual/Puzzle Game and Most Innovative iPhone game). Heck, the game got its “unofficial version” on Android called Rope Cut.
Commenting on the news, Chillingo’s Chris Byatte said: “Cut the Rope has been nothing short of a phenomenon on the iOS platform and we’re delighted it’s been recognized by the British Academy.”
