Mobile location-based services provider Telmap announced that its user base has exceeded 5 million users!
Unsurprisingly, Android and iPhone device owners demonstrated fastest growth, with iPhone in particular being “responsible” for more than 600,000 downloads.
Telmap provides white-label, managed mobile location-based services to mobile operators, and its application is available on more than 700 devices, across all major operating systems — including Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7 and Symbian.
In an effort to get even more people to use Telmap, the company has recently announced new solution for carriers, allowing them to more easily and cost-effectively offer location-based services to their subscribers. The solution enables operators to bundle local search, mapping and turn by turn navigation into customer subscriptions and even offer it for free with the option to sell additional premium services like traffic information, speed cameras, micro payments, fuel prices and city guides.
At the moment, Telmap is adding new users at a pace of about 15,000 a day.
