Apple released iOS 4.3 just a few weeks ago, but there is word that an update is already in the works and is only a week or two away. The updated version will be iOS 4.3.1 and should bring a few minor bug fixes along with it. The update should fix Springboard issues and the inability of some third-party apps to detect or make use of the gyroscope in the iPad 2.
Some of you might remember that the iPad 2 was jailbroken just shortly after its release, so this update should patch that up, leaving hackers with yet another version to hack (or more likely wait until later to do so). So if you’re sporting a jailbroken iPhone or an iPad 2, you might want to hold off on any updates, but you probably already knew that.
It sounds like this is largely an inconsequential update unless you own an iPad 2 and rely on apps and games that would benefit from use of the tablet’s gyroscope.
There’s no word on whether this particular update will apply to the Verizon or CDMA version of the iPhone.
