Verizon Wireless is reportedly clearing the inventory of its DROID Incredible handset. The once coveted Android handset is no longer available online and stores are supposedly selling their remaining supply of Incredible handsets. The end-of-life for the original Incredible is not surprising as the handset is slated to be replaced by the Incredible 2. The next generation Incredible handset is a CDMA variant of the Incredible S and will launch without the familiar DROID branding. It is rumored to debut on Verizon Wireless starting April 28th.
The Incredible S is a mid-tier offering from HTC and includes a 4-inch WVGA Super LCD screen, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 720p HD video recording, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM, WiFi, GPS and more. It includes a novel series of touch-sensitive navigation buttons that switch orientation from landscape to portrait. Last but not lease, the handset is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC’s Sense version 2.1.
We were able to grab some hands-on time with the Incredible S back in February. Check out our hands-on review here.
