Back in late December, we published a review for an iOS & Android title called Dungeon Defenders which is one of the first games to be released on mobile devices using Epic’s Unreal Engine. We really enjoyed the game, especially on the iPad since the game took advantage of all the of extra space, and now Trendy Entertainment has announced the game has just gotten better now that it’s been optimized to take advantage of the iPad 2.
Dungeon Defenders was original developed to take advantage of a multi-core system, such as the PC and console, and since the iPad 2 has a dual-core processor, the game’s graphical settings can be turned to the max and the game will now run flawlessly on the iPad 2. They even put together a video, which is embedded below, showing how flawlessly the game runs on the iPad 2. It’s recommended you don’t try tweaking the graphics setting on the iPad as if you decide to turn it up to its max setting, the game will be rendered unplayable.
That’s not the only good news coming out of Trendy Entertainment as the game has now gone free-to-play on Android in celebration of Google releasing its in-app purchasing system. No word as to how free the game is on Android, and by that I mean if any levels are restricted and given access only if you purchase the game in-app, but it’s still a great way to check out the game on your Android device to see how it performs.
To celebrate all of this good news, Trendy Entertainment is having a sale for Dungeon Defenders for iOS. The game has been marked down from its $2.99 price to just $.99 on iOS. The game is also a universal app, which if you’re new to the iOS scene, means you can play the game on both your iPhone & iPad for just one price.
