Good news for the fans of the work of Oprah Winfrey as the April edition of her iPad magazine has hit the AppStore. Like the previous issue (and other iPad magazines for that matter), this one also goes beyond text content, featuring embedded video, interactive animations and links to purchase featured products. The main theme of the April edition is poetry, while also featuring a guest editor (Maria Shriver) and 16 pages from Oprah’s private journals from the past 40 years, 11 of which are exclusive to the iPad edition.
Highlights from this issue include:
- Video of Oprah reciting a cherished poem by Langston Hughes
- Oprah talks poetry and the important role it plays in her life in “What I Know for Sure”
- Maria Shriver visits poet Mary Oliver, who recites her poem “Mornings at Blackwater”
- April’s Aha! Moment with Susanne Vega includes an updated arrangement of her 1987 single “Tom’s Diner”
- More than 25 book excerpts, including chapters from April’s Reading Room selections and poems from O’s must-have poetry books
