To follow up on the brief glimpse of BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.1, the application has been leaked for everyone to try out. If that wasn’t enough, OS 6.1 itself has leaked for two upcoming BlackBerry handsets, and someone has extracted updated versions of App World, Podcasts, Radio, News, Facebook, and Visual Voicemail. We’re expecting to see a bunch of new phones from RIM next month at BlackBerry World, so it’s not overly surprising to see this stuff get out into the wild now.
Here are some download links, just keep in mind it’s all very unofficial, and you’re on your own if your BlackBerry or computer spontaneously combusts from installing anything. For folks who work on hybrid OSes, these will likely come in handy.
- BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.1
- App World 2.1.2.3
- Podcasts v1.5.0.18
- Radio v1.0.0.34
- News v1.1.0.12
- Facebook v1.9.1.8
- Visual Voice Mail v3.0.0.122
- OS 6.1.0.44 for the Bold Touch 9930
- OS 6.1.0.44 for the Torch 2 9850
I have yet to install any of these, so can’t comment on any new features, but those of you adventurous enough to take the dive, feel free to leave a comment with anything interesting you find. I hear that the apps require BlackBerry ID log-in to use now.
