The HTC Merge was announced last month as CDMA-capable, but there wasn’t any mention of carriers. As you might imagine, Verizon is the top of the list of expected providers, and some fresh press pictures leaked today confirm that suspicion.
The HTC Merge has a 3.8-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel camera with flash, 800 Mhz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and runs Android 2.2 Froyo with dash of Sense. You’ll also find the usual stuff like Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth, world-capable 3G, and a hot-swappable microSD memory card slot. The full QWERTY keyboard makes it a worthy follow-up to the G2 (Desire Z), especially since it ditches the wacky opening mechanism that not everybody was a fan of. We actually had a chance to try out the HTC Merge, if you want to take a look at it in action.
Any of y’all particularly interested in the HTC Merge on Verizon? The only real Android alternative on VZ in that form factor is the Motorola Droid 2, which is certainly comparable in specs, but lacks some of the curves of the HTC Merge here.
