Samsung’s Bada 2.0 coming in July?

Samsung will most likely launch Bada 2.0 around July, according to India’s Financial Express. Samsung India’s executive Dipesh Shah said that they have ambitious plans with Bada, targeting smartphone market share of around 30% this calendar year, which is up from the current 10-15%.

Although we don’t have the exact figures, the Korean giant said that the number of Bada devices sold in India is similar to Android phone sales. If that’s true, they certainly have a great starting point.

As a reminder, Bada 2.0 promises to deliver better multi-tasking support, web-centric application framework, NFC capability, improved UI, security enhancements and revenue model support for app publishers and developers. The existing higher-end Bada smartphones, namely Samsung Wave and Wave II, will probably get the Bada 2.0 updated once it’s released (me thinks so)…
