When we reviewed NBA JAM for the iPhone back in February, we absolutely loved it and were impressed with how EA Mobile was able to get away with successfully porting the console experience onto the iPhone. Now that NBA JAM HD is available on the iPad, we can’t wait to see how the game translates onto the iPad’s bigger screen. With how beautiful the game looked on the iPhone 4, we’re sure it’ll look even sweeter on the iPad 2.
One of the big updates coming to NBA JAM HD is local multiplayer, which we thought should have been in the initial offering for the iPhone version, but better late than never in this case. NBA JAM HD offers local multiplayer through local Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for 2 players to go head to head. According to EA Mobile, iPad users will be able to play against iPhone users, and vice-versa. Now that NBA JAM HD has a local multiplayer mode, I’m hoping they can bump up the number of players to at least be 4 players in order for it to feel like a true NBA JAM experience.
If you haven’t picked up NBA JAM on your iPhone, then this is the perfect time to pick it up on the iPad. The game really is a lot of fun and it has a lot of replayability if you want to unlock everything in the game. And now that it has local multiplayer, you can finally take on all comers wherever you go.
