Opera Software is getting really serious about its recently launched Mobile Store. At the AppNation in San Francisco, the company unveiled Opera Appcelerate, a special program designed to help developers promote their apps “in a big way.”
As part of the deal, developers are able to target platform(s), handsets and regions they want. For a limited time, Opera will match co-marketing funds for qualified developers to promote their application(s), effectively doubling their power. We’re not sure what exactly “qualified developer” means, but this does sound like a compelling offer. Moreover, select apps will get a special spotlight (featured promotion) within the Opera Mini and Opera Mobile browsers.
Sounds cools, especially when you consider that Opera Mobile Store is among the top 10 largest in the world, spanning 200+ countries, 100+ million users and every platform.
As a reminder, Appia helped Opera Software launch its Mobile Store, which is accessible both from mobile web and Opera’s mobile browsers.
