Parkmobile keeps expanding the network where it allows people to pay for parking using nothing but their mobile phone. Their latest target is Chattanooga, which is the fourth-largest city in Tennessee. The company will implement its solution at CARTA surface lots located in and around the downtown Chattanooga area.
In order to use Parkmobile, customers first need to register for free at parkmobile.com, and from then on they are able to pay for using a mobile app (available for the iPhone, Android and BlackBerry smartphones), internet, or a toll free phone call – 800-280-4146. Additionally, motorists will also be able select the option to receive text message alerts and reminders.
Commenting on the news, Director of Parking at CARTA, Brent Matthews, said: “We are excited to bring the pay by cell technology to Chattanooga. Parkers are going to be able to pay and get to their destinations quicker. This is the first step as CARTA continues to implement new technologies to make downtown parking more convenient and accessible.”
