Sony Ericsson Xperia acro hits FCC

The phone marked CDMA SOI11 has been spotted at the FCC’s website. It’s a Japanese version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc, which we also know as acro. In that sense, it’s unclear why the Swedish-Japanese handset maker took this step, cause it’s not like Japanese telco regulator asks for FCC’s seal of approval (or at least it shouldn’t ask for such a thing). Guess admin folks at Sony Ericsson need to justify their salary somehow… not sure this is the way to do so, though.

Anyway, from the filing papers we see this baby is heading to KDDI’s AU portfolio and will work both on GSM and CDMA networks, which is cool for frequent travelers. Moreover, there are NFC and mobile TV capabilities, ensuring contactless payments and TV entertainment for on the go users. Rest of the specs are pretty much the same (when compared to the original arc) and include things like a 4.2-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity, sensors, 8-megapixel camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and so on.
