The Google iPhone app has just received an update and while this won’t blow your socks off with new features, it does add some performance improvements and revamps the user interface.
The Google iPhone app will now have improved search functionality, as the company said that it can up to 20 percent more responsive as you interact. You can now also do quicker voice searches with the “Just Talk” feature.
From the Google mobile blog:
As part of the speed improvements, a feature called “Just Talk” will now be off by default. Just Talk allowed you to search via voice just by bringing the phone to your ear and speaking rather than tapping the microphone icon. Turning off this feature may improve app performance, though you can easily re-enable it under the Settings > Voice Search menu
.
The UI in the Google iPhone app has also been revamped, as the font is bigger in order to make it easier to select links. There’s nothing too crazy with this update but it’s a nice improvement. The update is available in the iTunes App Store and it is free.
