Ever since Dead Space was released for both the iPhone and iPad earlier this year, we’ve been singing its praises ever since. The game offered an experience as good as its console version and all from the comfort of your iOS device. The only downside is EA hasn’t done much in terms of new content for the game, but all that has changed now that they’ve announced a new mode is available.
The new survival mode allows players to take on “an all out Necromorph onslaught” as you gain credits that can be used to purchase equipment during the campaign. If you, like us, enjoy murdering countless Necromorphs more than chit-chatting with crew members on how their weekend off-site went, then this is the mode you’ve been waiting for.
Also included in today’s update is a new Heavy Pulse Rifle, which sounds super-duper deadly, as well as the ability to replay certain chapters from the game’s campaign and a new Nightmare difficulty setting that is only for the truly hardcore as you only regenerate your health between levels. We think this mode can add a whole new way to play as we’re sure players will be watching their every step seeing as their life will be on the line.
If you already own Dead Space for either iPhone or iPad, this update comes at the low price of free. Otherwise, you’ll need to purchase Dead Space in order to check out today’s updates. If you need some enticing to jump into the game, then may we present to you our review.
