You may remember that Samsung announced its first 10.1-inch Android tablet at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Then in March, a new slimmer model was unveiled alongside the Galaxy Tab 8.9.
Vodafone initially agreed to carry the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 but has now changed its mind to dump the “fat” version for its slimmer brother. The old 10.1v (where “v” stands for Vodafone) won’t be available any more — at least not through the Big Red carrier — and users will have to go for its sexier (slimmer) version instead. However, it is unclear when exactly you will be able to grab the new Galaxy Tab 10.1. You can’t get the old version and there’s no information on the new version’s availability. So… you may want to grab some other tablet like the iPad 2 and Moto Xoom? Or you can sign-up at Vodafone’s website to be the first to know when the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (the slim one) becomes available. It’s confusing, I know. 😉
