Lookout had another announcement with the introduction of its new Safe Browsing feature in it mobile security app, and that’s a new partnership with Sprint. Sprint Android users can now download the Lookout application from the Sprint tab found in the Android Market, or Sprint Zone.

Lookout is easily the best mobile security application out their for the Android operating system and for good reason. Offering up the best features for its users, Lookout is virtually unrivaled in the mobile security space, even with the handful of competitors in the market.

“Wireless is rapidly becoming the dominant computing platform, and Sprint is dedicated to helping its customers find the best- apps to enhance their mobile experience. Lookout not only delivers a stellar user experience, but will give Sprint customers confidence to do more with their wireless device by protecting it.” said Fared Adib, senior vice president of product development for Sprint

Lookout has provided a very interesting infographic on how a phone gets phished that you can find after the break. People are using their mobile devices to access the web more and more, and as that trend grows, hackers and those not looking out for the user’s best interest will be paying more attention to mobile as well. When it comes to Android, most of these threats have been found in applications, but the mobile web is different. If there’s an exploit found within the code of a web browser, it doesn’t matter what operating system you’re on, and Safe Browsing is a great solution to help you safeguard against these kind of attacks.

“Safe Browsing leverages our global threat detection network that already protects millions of users from malicious applications. By extending protection with Safe Browsing, mobile consumers can feel safe surfing the web, accessing email and entering other personal information on their mobile device.” – Lookout CEO and founder, John Hering.

Sprint users with Lookout Premium, be sure to jump on the update if you haven’t yet!

Be sure to check out the infographic after the break!
