Orange UK’s HTC Desire HD getting Android 2.3 update as we speak

Orange UK and HTC have started rolling out Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates for the Desire HD. If you’re in the “affected” group you can already check to see whether a new update is available. If it isn’t – don’t worry. I’m sure HTC’s servers are dying at the moment as the company tries to push the software to all users.

You probably know what Gingerbread brings, so I won’t repeat it here. Still I’ll mention the improved Copy/Paste which actually makes the functionality usable.

As usual, we remind you it’s good practice to backup all of your PIM data (contacts and calendars) before updating. Your stuff may be in the cloud, but having a local copy is always a plus. When you’re done with that — and presuming you can update — “push the button” and voila… the next thing you know is that your Desire HD is snappier than ever. Good luck! 😉
