Good folks of FCC had some intimate time to play with the Sony Ericsson txt pro. Although I love phones with physical keyboards, I must say I don’t envy them [FCC folks] for trying out this particular Sony Ericsson model before the rest of us. The reason is simple – it’s a feature phone, rather than smartphone running Google’s mobile OS (or some other smartphone OS). What’s more, we know the txt pro lacks 3G, making it destined for heavy texters who don’t want all the bells and whistles modern smartphones offer, but an easy to use device that’s good for keeping up with virtual buddies across social and instant messaging networks. All said, we believe Sony Ericsson’s baby will find most of its users in the developing world, though few units may end up in some U.S.-based stores as well, presuming the Swedish-Japanese handset maker takes additional step to proceed with the American launch. They will have all of the papers ready soon, but as we all know – it doesn’t mean the launch will necessarily follow. We’ll see…
