The Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is at the FCC’s labs where the government-employed engineers are testing it to make sure levels of radiation are safe for the general public use. Then, once the FCC folks give it its seal of approval, the device will be ready to be sold on the U.S. soil. However, just because some phone has the FCC certificate, it doesn’t mean anyone will offer that device. We’ve seen few Japanese handsets “clearing” their way to the U.S. market but never actually hitting the store shelves. Will the Xperia Mini Pro share the same “destiny”? It’s unclear though common sense tells us that the Swedish-Japanese company wants to push its baby to the large U.S. market. The question is whether they can fit into AT&T’s or T-Mobile’s roadmap and come up with a win-win scenario for all the parties involved. We definitely think there is a market for a device like Xperia Mini Pro, though I’m not sure carriers think that as well. We’ll see…
