TiVo has updated its mobile app for iPhone and iPod Touch, allowing users to search, browse, explore and share comments (via Facebook and Twitter) about their favorite programs all without interrupting the programming currently playing on their TiVo box. Of course, “standard” remote control capability also comes included, enabling TiVo owners to view, schedule and manage recordings, get recommendations, and/or even explore an actor’s entire career.
As for the new features included in this release, there’s the Guest Mode which is made to demonstrate the “TiVo experience” to folks who don’t have a TiVo box. Of course, a valid TiVo user account is required for full functionality.
In addition, this release also comes with support for TiVo Series3 devices (Series3, HD and HD XL DVRs), though not all of the features TiVo Premiere users have are accessible. You’ll still be able to schedule, search and explore the programming from an iOS app, though…
