Want to control an R/C car with your smartphone? I know I do. And what do you know – I’m not alone with project titled BlueDrone trying to raise the money via KickStarter to turn this dream into reality.
The goal is to hit $200,000 in funding and anyone can participate with as little as $10. However, the real deal is when you pledge at least $59 as that money actually gets you the BlueDrone R/C Car. Of course, you’ll need a compatible smartphone powered by Android 2.0 and higher, which means pretty much any device running Google’s mobile OS bought this year will work just fine.
In case you wonder, BlueDrone is connected to a phone via Bluetooth and has a 30-foot range. The car is controlled via the touchscreen or using the phone’s built-in accelerometer for steering. A trio of AAA batteries provides enough power to keep BlueDrone up and running for about three hours.
Sounds cool, but don’t take my words for it. Check out the short video below and tell us what you think in the comments…
