Asus has somewhat strange strategy for its Eee Pad Slider tablet. The Honeycomb device with a side sliding QWERTY keyboard has been delayed in the UK for autumn, while in Poland it’s set to be released later this month. One more country is now included in the story – the Netherlands, where users can now grab the Slider. Seems to me Asus is using Holland as a test bed for its slightly weird product which weighs a whole lot more than most users are willing to accept. In that sense, I find Asus’ other device, Eee Pad Transformer, to be way more appealing, offering the keyboard as an optional accessory.
Anyway, interested users can buy the 32GB version of Asus’ Slider for 499 EUR (about $709), which is kinda steep. The 16GB version seems cancelled or at least not available at the moment.
Finally, before I let you go, we have a video demonstrating the Asus Eee Pad Slider in Italian. You will see how the device works with a mouse, thanks to the enhancements introduced in Android 3.1. Enjoy!
