On the heels of the recently sealed deal between Opera Software and Vodafone, the carrier’s India arm launched a co-branded version of the Opera Mini mobile browser, which works with pretty much any mobile phone with an Internet connection.
In the official press release, Opera promises to deliver a better and faster browsing experience for Vodafone Essar customers along with customized Speed Dial shortcuts for easy access to unique features offered by the operator.
India is already one of the largest countries for Opera Mini usage globally and this “new deal” will further strengthen the company’s position in the world’s fastest growing mobile market. According to Opera’s CEO Lars Boilesen, this “opens up the Web for even more Indian mobile phone users who now have an easier time participating on the Web.”
On the other hand, Jonathan Bill (VP of Internet Services at Vodafone Essar) said that the co-branded version of Opera Mini brings “new, enhanced functionality to Vodafone’s customers, giving them easy one-click access to key content and applications”…
