Samsung teases US Galaxy S 2 – It’s pretty big

If you didn’t know, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 is coming to the US of A relatively soon and Sammy wants to tell all. Not that the blatant event invitation gave it away or anything but just in case you’ve been MIA, a new ad has appeared online to remind you what a success the handset has been so far.

Next week is when we’ll get the full scoop on the US availability on the Galaxy S 2, which may come to seven carriers this year. We doubt we’ll be given exact dates for each variant but we wouldn’t be surprised to see an early to mid September launch for a majority of the handsets. It will be interesting to see if the US variants all receive the screen upgrade to 4.5 inches instead of 4.3, as we already know the Hercules, T-Mobile’s Galaxy S 2 model, will get an extra .2 inches worth of screen when it lands.

The ad is pretty simple, and shows a handful of different scenes (seen above), making the case that it’s been doing well in other countries, and it has. If we had the chance to look into the future, we wouldn’t at all be surprised if the Galaxy S 2 is one of the most popular handsets in the US, even after the launch of the next iPhone. The Galaxy S 2 really is a slick device that you’ll love to have in your pocket or your hand, and soon the US will have that option.

Needless to say, Samsung is betting pretty big on this handset, and for good reason. It will also be interesting to see if each variant will indeed ship with the carrier’s form of “4G”, be it LTE, WiMAX, or HSPA+, giving it an advantage over most of the upcoming competition but that’s all up in the air at this point.

Honestly, if the next Nexus handset wasn’t following the Galaxy S 2 shortly after its release, there wouldn’t be any contest as to what phone I would be rocking for the next year or so.
