Well, it looks like Verizon Wireless has just gained another notch under its belt when it comes to the carrier with the best quality. J.D. Power and Associates just announced that VZW ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in New England, which includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. This is hot on the heels of their LTE expansion elsewhere in the country.
The J.D. Power and Associates study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers. In the survey, more than 22,000 wireless subscribers voiced their opinions to the information services firm between January and June 2011. Subscribers shared thoughts about their experiences with dropped calls, calls not connecting on the first try, calls with audio problems, failed or late voicemail, lost calls, message transmission failures, late text messages, mobile web connection errors, slow mobile web loading and e-mail connection errors; basically all the very things which makes us want to throw our phones out of a speeding vehicle.
I do wish the folks over at J.D. Power and Associates would have conducted the survey with more than 22,000 people. After all, there are millions of people in the New England area, myself included. For those of you out there who are Verizon Wireless customers, this probably doesn’t surprise you very much. I admit, as a T-Mobile customer for all of five years, it’s becoming hard for me to ignore the awesomeness VZW’s network, and if prices for their plans weren’t so ridiculously expensive, I would have submitted to Big Red a long time ago.
