TNT has just released an iPad-optimized version of its app, bringing with it full-length TV episodes and movies. iPad users can expect to get complete access to their favorite TNT shows at any place or time they want. Users can also check out episode guides, watch clips and behind-the-scenes videos, set schedule reminders and even watch full episodes of The Closer, Falling Skies, Rizzoli & Isles and more after authenticating through your television provider. The full feature list includes:
- Full Episodes of TNT Series and Movies (after authenticating)
- Series Episode Guides
- Clips and Behind-the-Scenes Video
- Show Schedules with Reminders
- GetGlue, Facebook and Twitter Integration
TNT for iPad is available for free, though you need a subscription to a TV provider to have full access. This has become the new trend for television networks going mobile; what sucks is the fact that this only extends the reach of the cable providers seeking more control of the content you like to watch. With apps like this, you can’t have a full streaming experience unless you’re putting money in the satellite and cable providers’ pockets, which blows. In a perfect world, it would be awesome if TV networks charged people who don’t have cable separately.
