If you wanted the Droid Bionic but had to pass on it because of the hefty $300 price tag, then we have some great news for you. According to the folks over at Droid-Life, the Pantech Breakout is Verizon’s next 4G LTE phone. This comes after a leak of pictures and specs of the phone were released a couple of weeks ago. Now users have another option when it comes to a smartphone with high data speeds without having to pay a king’s ransom for it.
The Breakout won’t knock you off your feet with its hardware, but it fills a void Verizon has when it comes to offering affordable 4G LTE phones. Feature-wise, the Pantech Breakout will sport a 1GHz single-core processor, front and rear cameras, 4-inch screen, DLNA support, 3D view, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which puts it on par with most of the LTE phones on the market.
I think it’s imperative for Big Red to start releasing some more price-friendly LTE devices, especially if it wants to really sell its new network. It’s yet to be seen if consumers gravitate to Pantech’s less-than-attractive hardware, because, lets face it, we’re pretty shallow when it comes to our smartphones, right?
