Sony Ericsson keeps signing exclusive deals with game publishers to make popular titles available for its Xperia Play smartphone. Their latest gig involves a deal with Square Enix to bring “Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light” exclusively to Android on Xperia PLAY in November 2011. And that’s like a start with more “established hits” from Square Enix to follow in the coming months.
The game, as far as we know, will pretty much resemble the iPhone version (which is already available for download from the AppStore), taking advantage of the dedicated gaming controls the first PlayStation-certified device rocks.
Finally, we have the words of Square Enix Europe’s Head of Mobile, Ben Cusack – he said: “With a unique control pad and immersive graphics that enable an enriched gaming experience, Xperia PLAY is bringing a unique and exciting dimension to smartphone gaming. This is just the start of what we plan to do together, but right now, we are delighted to be able to show off the full potential of our games with this innovative smartphone, bringing them to life as our creators intended.”
