I wouldn’t consider myself a sports junkie, but if there are two sports that I would regularly watch it would be Baseball and Basketball. With Baseball season soon coming to a close, that means Basketball season will soon be here which also means we can expect some great NBA action on our mobile devices. 2K Sports’ NBA 2K has been dominating the console market for the past couple of years, which can only mean one thing: NBA 2K12 has made the jump to your iOS device.
NBA 2K12 for iOS includes all 30 of your favorite NBA teams with their full 2010-11 rosters to play in both full season and quick play modes, while also allowing players to take the court as the legendary Michael Jordan to replay some of his greatest NBA moments in the Jordan Challenge mode. The game sports a number of various control schemes that should allow for anyone to pick up and play, but the gesture based scheme is by far the best control scheme as it allows NBA 2K12’s broadcast-style presentation to remain unhindered by messy on-screen controls.
All 67 million Game Center users can expect to unlock a number of achievements, global leaderboards, and a number of other Game Center related things, although there was no mention of a multiplayer mode. If you recall when EA Sports’ NBA JAM was released, it didn’t have multiplayer either, but they easily remedied that in a following update. I’m hoping 2K Sports decides to do just that with NBA 2K12 as any sports title without a multiplayer mode just feels incomplete.
