After achieving some success in Europe, the music lover’s social network Flowd is launching in the U.S. As part of that effort, the company has signed Mike Johns, mobile brand producer and CEO of Digital Mind State, to develop mobile social media campaigns for major U.S. hip-hop acts.
In Europe, Flowd has signed up more than 600 artists, including some of the world’s top DJs like Armin van Buuren, indie rock band We Are the Ocean, British electropop group Fenech-Soler, and legendary trip-hop outfit UNKLE. As a matter of fact, half of the world’s top 10 DJs now use Flowd to connect with their fans.
Flowd’s mobile commerce platform, Frequent Fans, allows music artists and promoters to create a flexible method for creating loyalty programs for fans, aggregating mobile check-in, photo and video uploads and contests.
