It looks like Google is beginning to gear up for its upcoming developer conference for 2012 and the Google Code Blog suggests you save the dates of April 24th and 25th.With Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus just a handful of hours away until the official announcement, we can only wonder what’s in store for Android next year.
Last year we got some juicy details about the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich and Android 3.1 for tablets (that will eventually come to Google TV) and a handful of other interesting products coming from Google. We also saw the introduction of Google Music Beta, Open Accessory Development Kit, Android@Home, and Android Market Movie Rentals.
Next year’s I/O event could give us a sneak peek at the next version of the Android operating system, Jelly Bean. Little is know about this update but it’s said that this version will bring some great features that were initially supposed to launch with Ice Cream Sandwich. What they could be is anyone’s guess but we’ll worry about that once we have had Ice Cream Sandwich for a while.
Do keep in mind that this will likely be the fastest selling Google I/O yet. Last year’s event sold out in one hour so if you’re looking to go to the 2012 I/O, be sure to get your mouse ready once registration goes live. Also, Google decided to give away a limited edition Galaxy Tab 10.1 and a Samsung Chromebook last year and we could only imagine what the search giant has up its sleeve for the upcoming event. Nexus Primes for all? Would Google give away a 6 month old phone at that point?
Expect to see Marin and myself at the conference when it takes place in San Francisco next year.
What do you want to see some out of the next Google I/O?
