HTC today announced its first LTE smartphone, called the Raider,  for availability Canada. The HTC Raider will be coming soon to both Bell and Rogers networks, following on an initial announcement in Korea. The new Canadian bound device packs some pretty impressive features like a 1.2 GHz processor, 1080p camcorder and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with of course HTC Sense.

Other noteworthy specs include:

  • Platform: Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense
  • Display: 4.5-inch qHD super LCD screen (960 x 540), capacitive touch screen
  • Camera: 8 MP main with auto-focus, dual LED flash, f/2.2, 28mm lens, 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 1080p HD video cam
  • Internal Memory: 1 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM supports up to 32 GB micro SD card (not included)
  • Battery: 1620 mAh, lithium-ion
  • Processor: Qualcomm APQ8060, 1.2 GHz dual core MDM9200 modem
  • Audio DSP with Dolby Mobile and SRS WOW HD surround sound
  • HDMI capabilities
  • HTC Watch – delivers Blockbuster movies on the go
  • Wi-Fi hotspot capability

This is certainly a more-than-respectable option for both Bell and Rogers customers. HTC says that the Raider is built for entertainment purposes, and claims it’s “the ideal movie-watching tool.” So far, neither Rogers, Bell or HTC have left any details on a launch date, but sources say it should be available November 1. You can find the HTC Raider in the Bell online store here, and Rogers here for $149.99 on a three-year onctract.
